Venue 8 pro 3845 and Stylus
Hello,
I bought an active stylus and a venue 8 pro 3845 tablet. The stylus is not working and i cannot install the any synaptic driver. Does the 3845 ever have a synaptics stylus support as hardware? there is no sign of it anywhere. no synaptic software pre-installed, no update available. does anyone knows smth?
Regards

Unfortunately, the Venue 8 Pro 3845 tablet does not support active stylus use. Only a passive stylus may be used.

Are you talking the Dell Venue 8 Pro with the Dell active stylus? No driver to install--the stylus should work right out of the box (once the battery is installed).

Ah. I assume it remains the same: no driver install needed and the stylus should work straight out of the box.

I had to reply shortly because, I was at work, sorry...
Unfortunately, no... I ordered the tablet and the stylus from two different online store and the tablet was the last item which was delivered. I checked the signs of synaptic software everywhere in windows system folders and the program files as well as in the device manager... but there was nothing. there is no update for the stylus on dell website when I tried with the service tag and when i tried the update for the dell venue 8pro 5xxx, i had an error telling smth like "the synaptic hardware could not be located"
I am also curious because the stylus is not shown as an accessory for dell venue model which I bought...
any ideas?

Thank you for the information--I wouldn't have thought that different "flavors" of the Dell Venue 8 Pro would work or not with the active stylus.

Thanks for the info! It is not written nowhere clearly. I sent it back yesterday and ordered the 2 gb ram version which is, I believe, the 5000 serries one. It suppose to be delivered today and I am looking forward to test it with active stylus... I will write the result as soon as I test the new tablet...

It is listed under compatibility if you order from the Dell page, but you do have to scroll down to the bottom of the overview page. The Venue 8 Pro 5830 will work with the active stylus. Sorry for your inconvenience!

Try this link: http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A4609292
It should still be available.

I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro with windows 10 and I have found that the Jot Pro works really well with it. I bought mine at Fry's but you can get them at Amazon.com also. The thing I don't like about mine personally is the llittle disc on the end, however, as far as writing with it goes and scrolling, and tapping, and all those things, it works perfectly well. Here is a link to one on amazon that look like the one I have. I have tried the KROS stylus but ti did not work at all. So apparently some do and some don't. Hope this helps!
