Venue 7130 Intel Smart Connect Technology agent is not running

I have a enue 7130 with a i-4300Y CPU and a 256GB LiteOn SSD and 8GB of RAM

I've been getting a flashing exclamation symbol in the notification drawer on Smart Connect. I click on it and it says Intel Smart Connect Technology Agent is not running

I tried to go to the Services and tried to manually sgtart the Intel Smart Connect Technology Agent and it brings up a box that says The Intel Smart Connect Technology Agent service on Local Computer started and stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.

I tried repairing the installation of Smart Connect with the Drivers from Dell.

Is this OK? tablet works fine as is but just curious if I need to do something to fix this

Thanks!

I just updated the BIOS to A09 (came out yesterday).  I then went into the BIOS and enabled the SmartConnect technology (it was not checked).  When I logged into Windows I still had the same issue.  I then Went to Services and started the service and it worked.  I have rebooted and do not receive the error anymore.

I have a Venue Pro eval unit and it is doing the same thing.

Yup that did it. It was disabled in the BIOS.  I also had to reinstall the driver as it wasn't restarting the service. Once I reinstalled the Smart Connect drivers it allowed me to restart the service and then it's now not blinking at me. Thanks!

Mine is strange. I checked and it wasn't even installed on my system. Checked BiOS, enabled it and tried to install software.

Got error something like "Can not be installed with current OS configuration"?
Can try again to get exact error message.

Anyone has a similar problem?
Is it something just available on the vPro CPU's?
On the other hand isn't it just similar to Microsoft's Connected Standby? Connected Standby is supposed to update apps information etc.

I updated to A09 made sure smart connect was enabled in the bios and am still getting the flashing icon. I tried to start the service but it fails to start. Anyone seeing something similar?

Uninstalling and Reinstalling the Smart Connect software resolved the issue. Tried a repair but that did not work.

You can't have deep sleep (S3) disabled in BIOS.  If you do, it automatically disables Smart Connect.
