Venue 11 Pro On Screen Keyboard not working when Tablet keyboard is connected

I know we are aware of this problem:

When the Tablet Keyboard cover is flipped to the back of the tablet, they keyboard does not work; but windows 8 still recognizes that its connected and the on screen keyboard does not automatically pop up.

Both the Surface and  the Nokia RT tablet both function correctly,. Is there going to be a fix for this in the future? Is this a software issue or a keyboard issue? This really is a big deal that should be fixed as it leave the keyboard cover un-usable. I am seriously considering take the tablet back because of this issue. Any info would be appreciated.
