No sleep button/option on Venue 11 7130 running Windows 8.2 Enterprise

I just received the Venue 11 7130 and installed Windows 8.2 Enterprise but there is no option on the start metro to put the tablet to sleep. No option in the desktop view also. I have updated the device with the latest bios and also all the latest drivers. This tablet works great except for this item. I can create a task script to put it to sleep but the only option that Windows have is Hibernate the device. Can someone help!!!

Ha, now we are getting closer. :-)
Your system supports Standby (Connected) but is disabled because the Wifi driver / card / settings are wrong or wrongly set.
Did you install newest driver (mine is the Dell 1537)?
Also make sure that the Wifi card settings allow the system to put it in sleep.
Check if you have power options for the Wifi card in device manager and / or check the power settings in control panel)
You might need to change the registry key I mentioned before to 0 to see the option.
In Control Panel, Power Options go to "Change advanced Power options"
Click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable".
Select "Wireless Adaptor" and see what options you have.
Should not be set to disabled.
Again you might only see the Wireless Adaptor settings if the Registry key is set to 0.

Under Power Options in Control Panel and "Chose what the bower buttons do" do you have Sleep visible and selected?

Sleep is visible and selected for "when I press the power button" and it is also set "when the lid is closed" for on battery and plugged in.

I have a 7130 MS also. I have looked in the registry and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power The value of the key CsEnabled is set to 1. So by your message Sleep should be displayed.

I am with a school board so we are on the ESS campus license which gives us access to multiple OS, we need Enterprise for Microaoft Bitlocker capability.

I have the 7130 MS version and not the vPro. No idea which one you have but Sleep disappeared on mine (and it was still listed under Power options) after I changed a registry key to have more power options but it changed that Connected Standby was disabled as well and my system went only into hibernate without sleep.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power The value of the key CsEnabled is either 1 or 0.
If it's 0 connected standby is disabled and hibernate is active (that's where my sleep disappeared. The remaining battery time should also show and not just the %.
If it's 1, you have limited power options to chose from, connected standby is active again but sleep should display.

Try and change it to see if it changes.
You stated that you installed Windows 8 Enterprise and I assume it was done from a MSDN or purchased copy and not direct from Dell with configuration change. The only option I have seen is Windows 8.1 and Pro but not Enterprise.. :-).

When I ran the command this is what I get:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>Powercfg -availablesleepstates
The following sleep states are available on this system:
    Hibernate
    Fast Startup

The following sleep states are not available on this system:
    Standby (S1)
The system firmware does not support this standby state.
This standby state is disabled when connected standby is supported.

    Standby (S2)
The system firmware does not support this standby state.
This standby state is disabled when connected standby is supported.

    Standby (S3)
This standby state is disabled when connected standby is supported.

    Standby (Connected)
The following hardware does not fulfill the requirements for this standb
y state:
                WiFi

    Hybrid Sleep
        Standby (S3) is not available.

hmmm.. strange.
did you install all drivers from Dell support? It might be that a default windows driver is preventing the system to support sleep.
Run the below command as Administrator and see if Sleep / Standby is supported.

Powercfg -availablesleepstates

Mine shows:
Standby (Connected)
Hibernate
Fast-Startup

Maybe also installing the new Dell Power app will help.
