Dell Venue 7 Tablet Boot Up Issues
Saturday, I turned off my tablet and let it charge all night while I slept. Sunday, when I turned it on and tried to play Candy Crush Soda, a pop up instantly came up saying that the app stopped working. I kept trying to get in but the notification coming up. I gave up and tried the other Candy Crush. It too popped up 'stopped working'. I figured I just left the internet signal before it finished updating the apps and all would be well once I was connected again. Especially, since my word search app worked just fine.
Later that day, I came into connection range and some apps updated and I was able to use other apps, but eventually app after app starting popping 'stopped working' (including keyboard), which really flagged me as odd since I was on none of the failing apps. I tried to see if there was updates or whatever in GooglePlay but then that stopped working. Thinking nothing of it, I just turned it off, waited and then turned it on again. It popped up the Dell logo but before the colors came up it flashed and then the Dell logo came on again, the colors flashed, then it did it again. It never took me past the boot screen. Off and on all night I tried to see if it would eventually behave. It did when I plugged it into my computer, but launcher was failing. I took the opportunity to save stuff from the tablet to my computer. And like a fool, I shut it off to maybe get launcher working, but it started doing it again. I left it on to see what it would do. It'd flash the Dell logo constantly, with and without colors, then eventually it just went black screen. I could tell it was still on but there was nothing on the screen and even then it'd flash. I left it on for awhile before finally turning it off, taking out the SD card, and then going to bed.
The next day, it booted up alright. And seemed ok until I put the SD card back in, so I could listen to music while playing Candy Crush Soda. Suddenly, calendar stopped working and it took a few tries to get my music player to work. CCSoda worked but then Candy Crush pulled the pop up *** again. As soon as I was connected to the internet, app after app failed. Again, I shut it off and the constant reboot drama began again. In the meantime I scanned/repaired the SD card and looked to see if the internet had any advice. I tried the "Power/Volume down" and the "Power/Volume up" tips but neither worked. Just started the cycle again.
Yesterday, it eventually got passed the booting (again), but it popped up a message "com.android.phone has failed" (or stopped working) among other failing messages. After more reboot cycles, it took me to the startup screen but every attempt to unlock flagged "launcher has stopped working" among other failing apps. I did discover I could pull down the menu in the top right corner and I could get into settings. The My Dell section wasn't overly helpful, but at least I could get to the 'back up and recover' option.
Desperate, I tried the "backup/recover" (after the tablet charged all night to do it). It brought up the little Android while saying erasing and then it tried to boot like it's supposed to, but the reboot purgatory began again. Sometimes it just flashes the logo, sometimes it gets to the colors but then reboots again, sometimes it flashes the colors, but it all eventually goes to the flashing black screen.
I have no clue what happened, what to do, and no advice on the internet has been helpful. I'm also worried all the rebooting/constant on and off has damaged it in some way. I chose Dell because of the great customer service with my laptop and I could really use that again for my tablet

After more time sitting, with the occasional attempt, it's now getting me to the 'set up the tablet' thing that comes after the 'backup and restore' opition. But it pops up:
and 'system UI' and 'chrome' have stopped working (they're under that pop up, if I hit ok a numerous amount of times). One of the times it restarted before it was able to get this far, it locked up on the flashing colors; it would not move at all. The power+down restore thing is still not working.
Since, there's no responses other than myself on this, I tried to email tech support. I put in my service tag, but it said it couldn't find anything. I've only had this thing since March

I've let it rest and not tried to do anything for a day or so to see if it'd help. Nope. I really need help with this. I am lost without my tablet. I need my tablet.

Tablet still doing the thing and still no word from any Dell people. I tried to get help through the Facebook form. It said "Message Dell technicians through Facebook and receive an answer within 1 business day" but I never got anything back. I checked my Facebook everyday, I checked my emails including junk folders....nothing. My family and I swore by Dell and have purchased many Dell devices. I think this and my boyfriend's tablet may be the last. I am severely dissapointed

I am also facing similar problems with my Dell Venue 7 3730 (16GB WIFI only Model). Except in my case it does not boots up a single time. Let me know if you have found the solution.

Regretfully, I have a "similar" issue, and came here figuring I'd find some insight into resolving mine, only to find more folks with the same problem.
In my case, I bought a demo model from a "reputable", local electronics store a couple of days ago. While yes, I can take it back, I thought I'd take up the challenge first of trying to bring this thing back to life. So far, I've been unsuccessful, but, hopefully this might help some of you.
From experience with a different tablet, with the tablet off, if you hold the volume down button and power button simultaneously, the table will boot into a menu that allows for Droidboot and Recovery options, to name a couple. Using the volume up and down buttons, you can move to the item you desire. Upon highlighting the desired option, press the Power button to initiate that option.
My tablet boots to an Andriod laying on it's back, with a panel open, with an exclamation point above the panel and the words "No Command" beneath the Android.
Another regret is that the Service code has been rubbed off. I did call in and was able to speak with a Dell technician who advised that if I held the Volume Up and Power Button simultaneously, I should be able to get the Service Code. Unfortunately, my tablet doesn't produce this, HOWEVER, it now shows me the USB symbol with a bar under it. The bar alternates between Red and White. I'm "assuming" it's suggesting that I hook it up via the USB port to something I can either boot it from, or install the Operating System from. My system being an Andriod version, I don't have an Android Operating System to try to feed this thing, nor am I sure of what that symbol "REALLY" means.
Hopefully the data above helps someone and maybe the data provided gives someone the ability to help me.
From a specification perspective and price I paid for the unit, I'd like to keep it. But, I'm on the 15-day countdown to returning it.
Any help on what I can do to move to the next step with this USB image on-screen will be greatly appreciated.

I found this while trying to troubleshoot my Tablet. hope it helps.
Venue 7 (3730) or Venue 8 (3830) tablet may become unresponsive during Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) operating system upgrade
Dell has received reports of Venue 7 (3730) or Venue 8 (3830) tablets locking up during the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) operating system upgrade.
Recovery steps
Follow these steps to recover your system:
