It's down again. Actually, lately it feels like it's more down than up, sometimes you manage to connect but the performance is terrible, getting data at dial-up speeds. It would be nice if Dell put some more effort into keeping the Linux repositories up.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the website. I couldn't access "linux.dell.com" via Chrome. I was able to access it in Incognito mode. Also, I can reach it when I tried it with Edge browser and Opera browser. While trying to raise a ticket about this issue, I saw that a case was opened this week and was handled in progress.

In the meantime, you and anyone else having problems can check the DSU as a workaround. https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000130590/dell-emc-system-update-dsu you can try the catalog here "https://downloads.dell.com/catalog/"

linux.dell.com is down/very slow for us since nearly two weeks now.

We are heavy users of dell-system-update and also using yum repositories for OMSA.

Most times we are getting timeouts or no connection at all.

Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/latest/mirrors.cgi?osname=el7&basearch=x86_64&native=1&dellsysidpluginver=$dellsysidpluginver error was
12: Timeout on https://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/latest/mirrors.cgi?osname=el7&basearch=x86_64&native=1&dellsysidpluginver=$dellsysidpluginver: (28, 'Connection timed out after 30676 milliseconds')

Can someone from DELL please escalate this and give this a higher priority!

i also can access linux.dell.com in any browser, but it's slow ~30s for initial loading.

The main issue is when accessing the server's yum repositories, it's totally random and not consistent when it comes to timeouts, example:

Hello Carsten, thanks for the detailed feedback. 

The host is up, but the http service is apparently down. I can still get to the files through rsync just fine. I just made myself a small local mirror of the latest OMSA version.

rsync -rtlP linux.dell.com::repo/community/openmanage/10200 omsa-linux-repo/

For me both methods HTTPS & Rsync ain't working. anybody else succeed to use Rsync?

linux.dell.com used to be rock solid. What's changed? Old kit with no love?

I have also seen many responses of "linux.dell.com" is "unsupported". Really???? Linux is a supported option on your servers Dell, so how come you won't support a repository for Linux?

It all seems a bit daft.

Anyhow, hopefully whoever maintains the linux.dell.com server, or PC, or Pi or whatever it is, gets back from shopping at some point and gives it some percussive maintenance.
