VMAX 5875 Meta Striped vs Concat
The "Best Practices for Fast,Simple Capacity Allocation with EMC® Symmetrix® Virtual Provisioning" guide states that "In most cases, EMC recommends using striped rather than concatenated metadevices with Virtual Provisioning". In what cases does EMC recommend concatenated? We are getting ready to move a large AIX DB2 environment and want to make sure we are configuring the meta's properly.

when ease of expansion is important (windows boxes)

Or to put it another way, where ease of expansion is more important than performance. If expansion is never needed, just used striped.
