Max through put in DMX 4 FA
My host is connected to DMX4 using 4 HBAs, 2 HBA are in Fabric A and 2 in Fabric B on 4 gb speed FC.
Switch to DMX is just 2gbps.
I am transfering 1 TB of data from Disk 1 to Disk 2 (Both Disks are from same Storage)
I m getting only 90gb/hour.
Is it good throughput for this environment?
I am looking for some guide where I can understand the maximum load (IOPS/sec and MB/Sec) that FA can accept it.
This will answer more questions of my performace related issues.
I asking with EMC Live chat but end with no good answer.
Pls reply asap.

2gb FC limits you to 200MB/sec.

That is about 25MB/sec. My feeling is that the performance is not limited by the FA, but likely limited by the backend, or maybe the copy process itself. Only a performance analysis by someone that has access to performance data on the Symm, SAN and host can really get an idea of what is limiting the throughput to 25MB/sec.

Okay, Consider there is no issues then how much MB it should transfer / sec in this setup?
or on other way, its a test lab, no other host connected
2Gb HBA
2Gb FC from host to Switch to FA
How much data can be transfer to 2Gbps FC port /sec

I worked on HDS AMS 200 box where it will give 10000 IOPS per sec throughput. Like the same, do we have any water mark for this DMX 4 box ?
I believe there should be.

If the IOs are 1MB in size, then 10,000 would be 10GB/sec. I'm sure your AMS box couldn't do that on a port.
Also reads and writes, hits and misses are different on any platform, so a single number is meaningless. Also the throughput may be limited by other factors. Without doing a proper analysis with data, it is impossible to say why you are limited to 25MB/sec.
