Is VNX and VMAX 40K supported on ECC?

Is VNX and VMAX 40K supported on ECC? Also is Isilon supported on ECC?

To clarify, I was referring to the File side of VNX.  ECC can discover the Block side of VNX through SMI-S, the same way it would discover a Clariion CX-4 array.  Since you mentioned Isilon, I assumed you were only interested in the File side of VNX.  As I stated, ECC provides no way to query Isilon, Celerrra, VNX or any similar NAS solution.

You can check from the ECC support matrix, EMC ControlCenter 6.0 Support Matrix

For Symmetrix part, see as below:

Hi Will,

EMC controlcenter supports industry-standard management interfaces, including SMI-S. I think EMC controlcenter 6.1 can discover VNX.I am going thru the EMCTA for Isilon and at NO POINT it says anything about ECC. I hope my answer is useful to you.

I just retired an ECC instance.  No - VNX is not supported as a native platform.  If you have Host Agents installed, I can provide a host-centric view of Celerra/VNX - our HP-UX systems could report information on the NFS shares mounted on them, but that's about it.  ECC provides no way to query Isilon, Celerrra, VNX or anything similar.

ProSphere, however, does let you query VNX and Celerra via API, which filled the gaps nicely for me - it's the main reason I retired ECC.

Hope this helps!

Hi Karl,

I found the primus emc290193 introduces how to fix VNX cannot be discovered in ECC, perhaps VNX cannot use the overall function of ECC. Thank you for the information.
