how to check to see if my SMC/SYMCLI is running uptodate config information.
I am asking this because, while on Mgmt host if some configuration is changed, for example I have discovered some new HBAs. the list on the SMC local and SYMCLI local says same, but when I log into the SMC on SP it didn't even show the updated information until I refreshed and disvovered it. I want to check if my local MGMT server is effectively communicating and updating all config changes to the VMAX thru gate keepers how to check this one ?

hmm ..i mean you can run "symcfg discover" if you have any doubts. If symcli has problems talking to the array you will get symapi deamon error message, saying something like "cannot open gatakeeper to array blah blah"

I don't get any of that error so, I am assuming my symcli is talking to VMAX properly..but i do not why when i open the SMC on SP it's not populated with up2date information ....

why do you worry about SMC running on the SP then ? SMC and symcli running on your management host use symapi syscall to talk to VMAX ..not to SMC running on SP.

was thinking if I use any (SMC/SYMCLI on management host or SMC on SP) of it for some reason, I should see the up2date config information, just wanted to if everything is synced up when showing the information of VMAX.
