Can't rid of Dell SupportAssist Pre-Boot System Performance Check

Few things:

  • Model: Dell XPS 13 9365
  • BIOS version: 2.6.2, last updated 4/2019
  • dual booting ubuntu 18.04 and windows 10
  • uninstalled Dell SupportAssist program in windows 10 via control panel
  • disabled all SupportAssist related options in bios

The computer always boots into "Dell SupportAssist | Pre-Boot System Performance Check" and spits out the following warnings:

  • "Time-of-day not set - please run SETUP program."
  • "Invalid configuration information - please run SETUP program."

If I run diagnostics, it spits out another warning:

  • "Hard Drive - Not installed" ....which is not true. If just hit 'continue,' I'm able to boot into both Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 -- just fine.

I want to remove this precheck completely out of frustration, but is there is another solution, I would welcome it as well. Thanks.

In case some poor soul is still searching, the answer is -- update your bios. This issue took me too long to figure out. Clearly it's been a bug, and Dell fixed it but no ever told me. Latest update as of this post, Bios Version is 2.10.0 , released 28 Nov 2019.

If this is no longer true, do your Google.

So the answer is yes, Alex, I'll take "Can you totally dual boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 seamlessly using grub2 as the bootloader??" for 500.
