NDMP - Open Standard Protocol for conducting data backups and restores of heterogeneous network-attached storage (NAS) devices.
NDMP provides backup software vendors the ability to offer backup and restore capabilities on a NAS device without writing proprietary, device-specific code for NAS devices.
Hope this statement give overview about NDMP.
