View storage allocation to hosts for past 12 months

Hi, we have storagescope 6.1 and I would like to be able to generate a report that shows the allocation of storage to hosts over the past 12 months. Is this possible?

Hi,

To get the Tier level Details you can try below options which almost met your requirement but you need to confirm if that helps you.

Make a Copy of Storage Allocation Details and in the
1)First screen proceed with historical selection
2)Second screen :.Select one to eight related Areas of Interest

Under Hosts select (1)Hosts and also (2)Host Arrays
Under Arrays select (1) Arrays and also (2) Disks
3)Make required selection in thrid screen

Proceed with the next options and atlast ensure that you save it to a file-csv format so that you can open in an excel to perform some sort of customization as per your needs
I found disk details which will be helpful

Disk Name
Disk SCSI No.
Disk State
Disk Type
Disk RPM

Let me know if this helps you.

Pawan

Hi,

From ECC6.1 Storagescope -Analysis-Queries
Select

Host Allocation Details

Try to make a copy of the Query and then in the first screen [Define Initial Settings]
Ensure that you select Historical Data and proceed with the required settings which should meet your purpose.

I have the same issue. But showing just allocation is not enough, it should be known, which storage tier is being used. Tier information consists of disk type, size and raid level.

Can you do this? My experience is that this information is not included in the historical information.

Hi, I defined a tier but it only has a choice of "array type", not "array name".  Now I have 2 DMX, the tier would combine both DMX.  We'd like to see usage by each DMX.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

The historical information for service level or tier is available in StorageScope. The following built-in queries display historical data for array storage by service level:

Weekly Array Storage by Service Level

Monthly Array Storage by Service Level

You can create similar historical queries for Host or Group. Or you can copy existing built-in query "Host Storage by Service Level" and select History Data instead of Current Data. This should give you the historical data you want for allocation by tiers.

The historical information for service level can be found in following tables:

SRMTierMetrics - up to 6 weeks datily data

TierMetricsWeekly - weekly historical data

TierMetricsMonthly - monthly historical data

The above tables contain: Total, Allocated, Unallocated and Accessible Capacity for each service level for Host, Array, Storage Group and User Defined Group.

Hope this helps.
