Upgrade agent prerequisite check hangs
Hey All,
Here's my first snag with moving from 5.2SP5 to 6.1.
The details:
My 5.2 SP 5 environment is up and running.
6.1 environment newly installed on a separate server.
AIX host with Master, host, Symmetrix, and SDM agents - all at 5.2 SP5
I've take the following steps:
1.) stopped agents on AIX host via ECC 5.2 SP5 console.
2.) logged in to AIX host and stopped master
3.) Changed MGA.ini and ctg.ini to point to ECC 6.1 server
4.) restarted master agent on AIX host.
At this point, all looks good - the AIX host has shown up in the ECC 6.1 console (showing a 5.2 SP5 version).
5.) Right click on AIX host in ECC 6.1 console, select Agent -> Upgrade
6.) Upgrade Agent window appears, host shows up as Available
7.) Select 'next'
8.) Prerequisite Check window appears and stays with hour-glass checking mode.
Any suggestions?

I thought I'd let you know that this is actually a bug - there is an ongoing engineering ticket EMC is working.
From the Bleeding Edge .....

It's not by any chance an AIX 5.1 host, is it? That OS rev is no longer supported at CC 6.1.
If it's a supported OS (AIX 5.2, 5.3, 6.1) then the upgrade should obviously work without any hitches. Your best bet might be to open a SR so that an Engineer can investigate the issue in more detail via WebEx.

It's actually an AIX 5.3 host that initially encountered the problem, however I'm now seeing the same thing on a solaris server.
I have an SR open and hope to hear from someone soon ....
