StorageScope Queries Available for Download
I'm trying to create a StorageScope report that will output total Storage Capacity in-use by BCV devices and how much are carved and how much are available.
I've been told to use StorageScope to do this, but whoa - I'm in a bit over my head. Anyone out there have some quick tips on how to go about this, or perhaps some SQL code I can snip and paste to accomplish this?
Thanks!

1. Go to SRM console, Analysis-> Queries
2. Click Create, Put whatever name you want to use, everything else use the default, then Next.
3. Choose objects, Arrays and LUNs, then Next.
4. Choose columns:
Arrays.Array Name
Luns.Lun Name
Luns.Lun Capacity
Luns.Raw Lun Capacity
Luns.Array Allocated?
Luns.Host Allocated?
Luns.Host Accessible?
Then Next
5. Choose filter Luns.Allocation Type equals Local Replica. This will only show you BCVs.
6. Save and Run it.
To get carved and uncarved capacity, you can create query by choosing object Arrays, then column configured and unconfigured.

How much disk total in the box by tier (73, 146, 300, 500)
How much disk is carved by tier (73, 146, 300, 500)
How much disk is uncarved by tier (73, 146, 300, 500)
How much disk is replicated an by which tier
I find it baffling how complicated StorageScope is to create a report of this simplicity.

He then will produce a list of disk groups. Each group has a certain number of disks, grouped by capacity, so for example group 1 is 50 x 73GB, group 2 is 256 x 146GB, group 3 is 128 x 146GB (yes, you can have multiple groups of the same sort of disks) and so forth.
Then he can easily produce a list of "normal" devices, BCVs, whatever you ask for. For him it's a matter of copy / paste from the service console.
So if your manager needs this info in a hurry, I'd suggest this way and work out another automated way after that.
I would also create storage pools in ECC and (manually) add devices in there, so you can easily view the free space in each storage pool (and what's used from each pool). You can for example have a pool of BCV which are located on 73GB disks, another pool of RAID5 standard devices based on 300GB disk and so on...

Thanks for the response. It's good to know that I haven't missed anything in StorageScope.

Still struggling a bit with the query tool myself though it does have a lot of potential.

1. Go to Analysis -> SRM Views -> Switches
2. Click on the switch that you want to see
3. Click Tab "Switch Ports"
4. There is a drop down menu "Ports Connected to Unidentified Ports or Free Ports"
