Need SAN & NAS storage usage templates

Can anybody has SAN & NAS storage growth sample template. Please let me know what columns we need to use to get a better idea for storage metrics from storagescope.

My idea for SAN & NAS is below.

SAN:
Total physical
Total configured(Usable Capacity) - Raid Groups usable.
Host allocated(Used Capacity) - Sum of LUN sizes.
Unconfigured - Unbound disks.
NAS:
Problem with NAS is, we cannot discover the Clariions integrated to Celerra ( we can discover the Celerras completely) into ECC(found on powerlink). We can discover Clariions which are gateway connected to Celerra.

Knowledgebase Solution

Environment: EMC SW: EMC ControlCenter 6.x
Environment: EMC SW: EMC ControlCenter Storage Agent for CLARiiON 6.x
Environment: EMC SW: EMC ControlCenter Storage Agent for Celerra 6.x
Environment: Product: Celerra
Problem: Cannot fully discover a CLARiiON in ControlCenter 6.x if it is integrated with a Celerra
Problem: Cannot view the physical disk relationship of my Celerra filesystems
Problem: ControlCenter is missing the relationship information of the Celerra filesystems and their physical disks
Problem: Relationship information between Celerra filesystems and their Physical disks is not available in ControlCenter
Problem: Properties view of Celerra does not display Physical Capacity, Configured, Unconfigured, Allocated and Unallocated
Root Cause: If a CLARiiON array is integrated with a Celerra, it is not currently possible for the ControlCenter Storage Agent for CLARiiON to access the CLARiiON Storage Processor.  Therefore, the CLARiiON physical disks cannot be discovered. However, CLARiiON arrays that are connected to a Celerra gateway unit can be fully discovered by ControlCenter.
Fix:

If you require this functionality, please submit an enhancement request on Powerlink at the following location:

Support > Request Support > Request a Product Enhancement

Notes: The Support Matrix documentation has been updated to reflect this limitation. The ControlCenter 6.1 Support Matrix document is available on Powerlink at the following location:

Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Software ~ E-I~ Documentation > >

> > Ionix Family > Ionix for Storage Resource Management > Ionix ControlCenter > >

>> ControlCenter 6.1.x & Service Packs > Ionix ControlCenter 6.1 Support Matrix

We can get the Information from Celerra Manager. But I am looking from ECC to generate this reports .I used to plot used Filesystem capacity and Total filesystem capacity from the ECC.
Thanks,
Bannu.

To create SAN storage usage report:

1. Go to query builder in SRM console

2. Click Create, enter query name and Next. ( If you want to see growth, you can choose historical data instead of current data)

3. Pick object Arrays, then Next

4. Choose columns:

Array Name

Physical Capacity

Configured

Unconfigured

Host Allocated

5. Create filters if you want or simple Next

6. Save and Run

To create NAS storage usage report:

1. Follow steps 1 and 2 above. ( for growth report, you may want to choose historical data such as daily, weekly or monthly data)

2. Pick object NAS Servers.

3. Choose Columns:

NAS Server Name

NAS Server Capacity

NAS File System

Used File System

Or more columns for example Snapshot usage

4. Save and Run

You do not need to fully discover the arrays integrated to Celerra. As long as Celerra is fully discovered, you will be able to get NAS usage information.
