Need Overview of ECC 6.1

Hi Everyone,

I gone through ECC docs which are available on powerlink. I just want to know the overview of ECC installation process. Is there any one who can give me a simple overview of the installation process. I need the basic installation steps like what need to be installed first, what agents need to be installed etc.

I am installing ECC 6.1 on a VM guest.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

All the information required for the installation process for ControlCenter 6.1 is available in the Ionix ControlCenter 6.1 Planning and Installation Guide Volume 1 "Describes procedures for planning, installing, and configuring ControlCenter components and products. Volume 1 covers installation of the infrastructure, open systems agents, and applications." & Installing Ionix ControlCenter in a VMware Environment Technical Notes "Provides an overview of the steps required to plan for and install ControlCenter components (including infrastructure components) in a VMware virtual environment.". There is no simple overview follow the section in the above guides depending on what part of the installation process you are doing.

Install the ControlCenter Infrastructure components first and ensure they are upgraded correctly before installing Master agents on other non-Infrastructure host and pushing out agents to discovery objects. On your question what agents need to be installed etc. This will depend on the objects you are discovering.

After installing a fresh install or after upgrading ControlCenter to 6.1 A04 (ub4) before installing the upgrade bundle (latest is UB9) run the ControlCenter Environment Checker and review the audit report to ensure you are ready to apply the upgrade buddle. "This utility is a diagnostic tool intended to help in determine whether the existing ControlCenter 6.0 to 6.1 environment is ready to be upgraded to the next higher version. The purpose of this tool is to list out any potential issues that could occur while upgrading ControlCenter."

Review the "UB* NEED to Know" document and the readme file "Update Bundle*_Readme" which comes with the Update Bundle download to install the latest Update Bundle correctly.
