Mapped & masked devices are displayed in ECC as unallocated.

Hi,

Some of the devices which have been allocated ( masked / mapped ) to some hosts are seen unallocated on ECC 6.0. Some devices show as possibly allocated.

What could be the reason?

Thanks,
Siva

Sounds like you have an issue with your SDM agent.

1) Can you confirm that you have both an active SDM and an active Symmetrix agent against the Symmetrix in question?

2) If they are active try to stop and then restart the agents to force them to do rediscoveries.

If that fixes the issue then you may have a discovery policy issue (assuming the work was done outside of ECC) otherwise if you still see the same behavior I'd suggest you get a case open with SAC as you most likely are running into some sort of software bug or configuration issue with your environment.

I've done that so many times, moreover all the mapped /masked devices appear in the unmapped column not on the mapped column
