How do I change where Ecc Console --> Launch StorageScope points to?

We are using ECC 5.2.0.4.0-Ga14

The problem I have is that when I launch storage scope from ECC console it points to an old invalid dns alias for the server. So when the browser opens I get a 404 error and then have to delete and retype the hostname portion of the url to make it work. I would like to change it to point to the correct server name.

Thanks in advance.

From my research just now, it looks as though the data used to launch the session and populate the URL the browser uses is not contained in any flat file where you can modify it.

The information is being pulled from the repository database itself.

I agree, I too have not been able to locate a flat file with that info.

When I called support their suggestion was to uninstall and reinstall Storage Scope. Yikes!

Is there anything you can do with that older/invalid DNS entry to make it point to the right place for you?

Yes, the information is kept in the repository, not in a file. Manually typing in the URL is your only workaround bar a uninstall/reinstall of StorageScope.

We're in the middle of upgrading to 6.0.... it appears to have cleaned itself up with the upgrade.

Thanks guys.

Hello,

Yesterday (wednesday) after a Microsoft Security Update to Internet Explorer 7, I can't open StorageScope through ECC Console anymore.

Are you experiencing this, please?

TIA,
cviniciusm.

Hi cviniciusm,

Internet Explorer 7 does not support StorageScope - it only supports Performance Manager and Web Console.

Is there any word on when SS might be scheduled to work with IE7. This is a bit of a pain for us.

Wow! There must be some real conflicts to push it out that far. I figured it was just a bit of tweaking.

Thanks Seamus

Hi Allen,

ControlCenter Product Management have informed me that support for StorageScope on Internet Explorer 7 is provisionally scheduled for CC 6.2 (1H '09).
