ECC Storage Scope Array Report - Local/Remore Replication LUNs

Hi EMC Team,

Good day!

May I have your thoughts on this?

We are using ECC Storage Scope Arrays Reporting to provide Report for an Array Capacities and its Usage but have noticed that on section "Details For All Arrays" #Local Replica LUNs: and #Remote Replica LUNs: only Display "0" value.

May I know how this information relate to CX Array SNAPView /Clone Local Replication configured in our Environment?

By the way our CX arrays has configured local replication via SNapview/Clone and RM 5.2.2 thus we are expecting some value on this section of Array Details.

I value your response.

Many thanks!

Don G

Local replica luns are for BCV devices and remote replica luns are for RDF2 and SRDF2, and also R21. They do not include snaps and clones. StorageScope does not fully support Clones. Clone devices are included in primary luns. For snaps, VDEVs are marked as "Virtual Primary".

As this is a question about ECC/Ionix, it would be better to move this question to the Ionix forum.

Thank you Guys for moving this query to correct channel.

Here I attached the ECC PDF Array report for your reference.

As I had mentioned above, please refer to Array Details on each page and focus on the following:

1. # Primary  LUNs:

2. # Local Replication LUNs:

3. # Remote Replica Primary LUNs:

Just want to know how I relate these figures to our current CX Array with Snapview/Clone LUN (RM)  and wondering why our Value is Zero where we have LUNs with RM Replication Clone Group.

Hoping to get feedback soon.

Regards,

Don

We don't support replica reporting for Clariion arrays.  You should expect replica information for Clariion in the future releases of ProSphere.

Hi SarahXu,

Thanks for the great information.

Would you mind sharing if we have any document telling that it won't support CX replica LUN info?

Again, thank you so much.

Regards,

Don

Hello AnuShivnath,

Thank you so much for sharing.

It's a great info but how about for Ionix future release?

Best regards,

Don

ProSphere is the external name for the replacement product for ECC.  You may have heard this referred to as "SRM 7" before.  Customers with ECC under maintenance are entitled to ProSphere for free.  ProSphere capacity reporting will fully support CLARiiON/VNX replicas.
