ECC Security

I am having difficulty placing additional ECC users into the ECCAdministrators User Group. I can't find the appropriate way to do this. I am running ECC 6.0 and the users are Active Directory accounts

This is not directly supported, but if you add them using the AD name as part of the account name this will work.

Example if your AD domain is COMPANY and the user name is ECCUSER you would add the account name like this:

COMPANY\ECCUSER

You still need to add this to "ECC Users" first then you can drag this to the "ECC Administrators" group user "ECC User Groups"

The other caveat is that the server running your ECC environment has to be an active member of the listed domain or this will not work.

Hopefully this works out for you.

Interesting.... I know it is possible to add domain users to ECC. So far I've only added local "ECC server" users to ECC. I'm curious how this works and I'm too lazy to read and find out in the manuals....

Perfect! I had defined the AD users as you had indicated. It was the "drag & drop" within the tree that I just couldn't get. I had tried all the "right click" options to no avail.

Thanks.
