ECC and MRLK.

If the symm only has MF connections, they you will need to install SE onto an LPAR and start up the EMCAGENT process (read through the install guide for these instructions.

You don't need the MRLK as such, but you do need to deploy a symmetrix agent and the appropriate version of SE software onto an open systems host somewhere as you still need the symmetrix agent functionality to discover the MF symmetrix array.

Once that's sorted, you will then need to create a proxy discovery policy and in that policy, specify the IP address of the LPAR running the SE agent.

You should also adjust the symm agent data collection policies as per the tables in the ECC performance and scalability guidelines document otherwise you'll be consuming a heap of MIPS on the MF side...
