Hi,

From looking at the above errors it seems that the Symm/SDM agent is not able to communicate with the VCM database of the Symmetrix in question. These errors can be generated if the ControlCenter database has become out of sync with what is contained in the Solutions Enabler database for the Symmetrix in question

To try resolve this issue, do the following: (Primus Solution emc224532)

a) From the Agents view in the ControlCenter Console, identify the host with the Primary Storage Agent for Symmetrix, and stop the Agent.
b) Delete the Symmetrix object from ControlCenter.
c) Start the Storage Agent for Symmetrix and allow it some time to fully discover the Symmetrix again.

Or

Run the SQL patch 4529. This will reset the checksums and cause a full rediscover of the Symmetrix in question. (follow the 9 steps in the readme file to rediscover the Symmetrix)

For the error "Reliable distribution of data for Collection 'WLA Daily 00' failed for Symmetrix=******. sendToComponent() failed with a return code of 8"

It can be caused by the Symmetrix not being discovered correctly by ControlCenter or can be caused by an overloaded agent diskqueue for the ControlCenter managed object in the alert message (Primus Solution emc109169).

If the alerts remain after rediscovering the Symmetrix in question please open an SR with Support to have logs reviewed.

Regards

Conor
