Concatenating Metas in ECC
Hi,
Is it possible to concatenate the meta volumes in ECC? Or you have to dissolve the metas into hypers and then create a new meta from all the hypers.
Thanks.

I am asking for a general situation for a striped meta, unmapped with no data. So that does means I have to split up the meta and recreate a new meta of my requirements?
Thanks.

In a more normal situation, a user has outgrown a particular volume and he/she asks for additional storage. You have a striped meta of some size. You could just cat the additional storage onto the existing meta and he will go away happy with the additional storage, but there is a problem: your data is only striped within each stripe set. In other words, your stripes do not extend across the entire volume. this is not efficient.
The only proper way to get around this, AFAIK, is to build another volume of the appropriate size, copy the data over from the old meta to the new meta, and then reclaim the storage from the old meta.
