Agent Install in ECC 6.0
We can install Symm agent and SDM agent in one go right? Do we have to do it one at a time.
I did this and now I can see all the symm connected to this server but the task description says that agents did not start. Is there a way to start the agents in windows host?
I went to the services window and did not find the agents there.
What can I do?

Load balancing is carried out automatically by ControlCenter. The following criteria is used to determine which agent of a particular type is primary. If ControlCenter cannot determine primary status based on the first criterion, it considers the second, then the third, and so on.
1. The agent that has the highest version level (for example, 6.0). The primary agent should have version equal or higher than the version of the agent that last reported data on the managed object to ControlCenter.
2. The agent that has the shortest logical distance to the managed object.
3. The agent that has the lowest processing load.
4. The first agent located by the ECC Server.
A certain amount of manual load balancing can be carried out though - see Step 32 Configure Agent Load Balancing in the Planning & Installation Guide for more details.

The Symmetrix and SDM Agents have to be started via ControlCenter Console - they cannot be started locally (they simply appear as processes on the host when started via the Console).
This sounds like an issue whereby you should engage the Support Center via a Service Request.

As mentioned by Seamus, Symmetrix and SDM Agents have to be started via ControlCenter Console. But sometime this happens when Control Center Console has duplicate host entries. If this would be the case then , Stop the master agent service and Wait until the ControlCenter console displays it as inactive. All subagents should also be shutdown as well. Delete the host from console and then rediscover it. Restart Master agent and push the Symmetrix and SDM agent.
If that didn't help then please open a service request with EMC support.

There are no Duplicate entries of host on ECC.

The Symmetrix and SDM agents are supported on Windows 2003 64-bit hosts but not on Windows 2008 64-bit hosts - only the Master Agent and Host Agent are currently supported on Win 2008. See the latest ControlCenter 6.1 Support Matrix on Powerlink for more details.
Note that if you're running CC 6.0, then Win 2008 is not supported for any agents.

I have the ECC server up now.
I have an other question.
Now that we have 2 servers managing 1 Symm how can I make the agents on 1 host as primary and the other secondary? I need the agent on the new server to be primary one.

I appreciate it.
