(redirected) Alienware M17x R4: Windows7 not detecting internal SATA DVD/CD optical drive, game dvd stuck inside.

Hello, I'm in need of some help here because I can't really figure out what's causing the problem.

I inserted a legit BioShock 2 installation DVD, and my CD/DVD drive did not detect it. I tried taking out the disk by pressing the ODD eject button, but nothing happened.

Under "My Computer" my drive is not showing.

In the device manager, it is not showing any CD/DVD drive either.

Oversight of my computer

I have taken a lot of steps trying to find out what is going on, and I thought this was a software based issue.

I ran Dell diagnostics, Fix It, booted and checked in safe mode and pretty much everything they recommended me to do in guides.

One step I could not undertake, where I would locate the registry subkey "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}" and modify the upper and/or lower filters, because there were no filters to be modified.

Picture of my registry editor

The last step I undertook was adding the following subkey to atapi in regedit.

When firing up my laptop, I can hear my drive working. When pressing eject, it sounds like it prepares to eject the disk, but nothing's come out yet.

The CD/DVD drive is recognized in the BIOS but is not listed in my device manager. It clearly is getting power. In the BIOS it mentions "SATA ODD MATSHITARV11 Downloader". It is also shown in Intel RST.

I have only one HDD onboard my laptop, and in my BIOS my SATA operations are set to RAID. Would it make a difference if I swithed them to AHCI? Could there be a loose connector causing this detection problem for my OS? If so, isn't it weird my BIOS is still detecting it? I have the option to boot from CD/DVD, but when I do it just boots up from my storage disk like it always does.

Any ideas?
