Internal drive cannot be found on my dell 560 desk top
I had a problem where something failed I installed new memory about a week prior
went from 4 gig to 8 gig everything was working great. A couple days ago i got a startup
failure I got back in.The following day I couldn't get in and haven't since. So, I gave up and
reloaded windows 7 64 from my oem recovery disk. I could not get in then because it couldn't find
my hard drive. Digging around I found a driver for the hard here at dell support that has it is an urgent update. it is a zipped .exe app.
Since my windows install will not go any farther i tried opening the zipped folder in a rewrite disk,
flash drives, an external back up drive, my PC will not accept any as driver locations. It is not in the old
OEM drivers. This is what I need R243144.exe. The stuff i read says i have to unzip to a folder and run from my desk top or something similar because is is an HTTP file. I can't do that cuz i cannot finish the install.
I also tried the diagnosis I got this message:
ERROR CODE 0151
Message ERROR Code 2000 - 0151
message hard drive 0 incorrect status
32 no additional sense information
So all this stuff you just read through above leads to my question:
Can I get a dvd with these updates ready to go? I know this is an old PC but it is plenty for the stuff I do
browsing, word processing and answering support tickets.
Is there a way I can get these drivers I need in a startup disk?
then I could load it perhaps.
Thanks in advance for any help
Regards
Mark

Update
This is funny, after last night and all day today my daughter's boyfriend asked if he could take a look, he
couldn't find anything wrong. He looked inside, noticed that a little ribbon wire connector seemed a little loose.
So he took it off looked at it, cleaned it up just a little, clipped it back on and I was back in business.
after everything was ok I put the other 4 gig of memory and everything is wonderful./
I must have loosened it up a little reaching under to add the other memory.
Needless to say I am spending this evening and tomorrow backing everything up just in case
So, a happy ending!
