DVD RAM
Hi
I have windows 7 and I want to use my DVD Ram disc , my computer does not recognise it, so which dvd ram drive can I install ? and that is safe. The installed software to edit, etc is ok but I get a message
'' Failed to update the system registry, please try using REGISTRY'' ,
thanks

Hi,
Update the DVD firmware from Dell site.
What is your system model??
Does it have a DVD burner or just a reader??
You can try deleting filters from registry , find the link below on the same

Hi Clara,
Optical drives are very generic hardware with no special device drivers. So in theory any optical drive that your OS supports will work.
This drive supports DVD-RAM.

Hi jent77,
Look in device manager to find the model of your DVD drive. Please post the model number and I can check to see if the drive is compatible with a DVD-RAM disc.

Ok, so the model number of your drive is DH-16ACS.
What happens when you insert a DVD-RAM disc?

The answer was stated in my original message .I thought this was known and reason for the asking about the model number.

I was not able to determine if that drive is compatible with DVD-RAM discs. Not all DVD burners are.

OS = operating system
Optical drive means any CD, DVD, BD drive.
