CD/DVD/HDD Eject??

Hello:

My new Inspiron 3847 arrived this week, and I'm using it for the first time.

It was hard enough to locate the disk drive,  Once I found it behind the super-secret hidden door, I put in the monitor driver disk that came with the computer.

Now, I want to install my printer, but I can't find any way of opening the disk drive.

I searched the forums and found that I need to press "Function+F4" to eject a disk.  What happened to the "eject" button on the disk drive itself?

Anyway, I can't find a "Function" button on my new Dell keyboard.  I know I bought an economy model, but the "Function" button wasn't even offered when I ordered the system.

Along the same lines, I know I didn't order the "Crescent Moon" button above the number keypad "Clear" button either. But there it is. Luckily, that one isn't connected to anything, because nothing happens when I push it.

Does anyone have any suggestions?  I really don't want to go with the "paperclip in the pinhole" route.

Thanks,

Try F12 - that usually opens the disc drawer.  Or, locate the icon for the drive in the Computer applet and right-click on the DVD drive - there will be an eject option.

F12 didn't work, but right-click on the drive did.  Thanks, EJN63!
