Uninstalling EmailXtender
We migrated to SourceOne about a year and a half ago. After working through issues with the migration/migrated data, we're finally to the point where we are going to be able to get rid of the EmailXtender system. I've been looking online for some type of documentation as far as how to go about doing this, but haven't been successful. Has anyone gone through this process or are there any recommendations as to the best way to approach it?
I assume we would:
1) Remove the Mapped Folder for EmailXtender
2) Remove the Archive Connection to EmailXtender
3) Dispose of the data on the EX system itself
4) Uninstall the software/remove the server
But I want to make sure I do this in the right order, getting rid of all of the necessary things on our SourceOne system so that we don't run into any problems down the road.

That's pretty much the steps unless DiskXtender is involved with EmailXtender.
For step #3
A) In the EX Admin Console:
Select the Archive Month View
Select All (Ctrl-A)
Right-Click and choose “Dispose of Monthly Data”.
This will put all volumes in ‘Lost and Found’.)
B) On the Physical Drive:
Delete the associated EmailVault_Index_Archive_YearMonth folders.
If the License server is installed be sure it's not being used by something else before uninstalling.

We are using DiskXtender (someone else maintains that, so my knowledge of that system is low). EmailXtender is the only thing that we are using DiskXtender for - there were intentions of doing fileshare archiving, but that never happened. Is there something additional we need to make sure to do because of that? Also, would there be any SQL references or anything "hidden" in the database we need to make sure to clean up in SourceOne after removing the mapped folder/archive connection?

Is DiskXtender being used to connect to a Centera?

SourceOne Cleanup is just the Mapped Folder and Archive Connection.

Cleanup is more involved with DiskXtender involved and requires knowledge of both products, even more so with Centera.
I would recommend retaining a qualified EMC Partner to decommission that for you.
Did you do the migration yourself or retained someone to do it for you?
Decommission is usually included as part of the Migration services, at least it is with ours.

We did the migration with an EMC partner. I don't know that decommissioning was included, but will make sure to go back through our contract to verify. Thanks for your help!
