Sourceone fails after migration to exchange 2010
Hi All
I'm running into a very strange issue at a customer.
The migrated to exchange 2010 recently and since then sourceone doesn't work.
They had an exchange server called "exchange"01 running 2007 before and now migrated to an exchange 2010 "exchange-03" server now.
The emc service account has a mailbox and when running an activity towards the emcservicemailbox its working fine.
When running an activity towards a pilot group we get the error "Failed to logon to mailsource.
The outlook profile on the sourceone server is configured correclty and the emc service accound has send as and recieve as permissions on the exchange 2010 server.
In the sourceone console under servers => tuning tab i do see however 2 entries, one for the new and one for the old exchange server
I don"t think this is causing the issue, but does anyone has any other suggestions because i4m rnning out of ideas
thnx

Have you verified you can open another Mailbox in outlook that is on Exchange 2010 from the SourceOne Server logged in as the Service Account?

Hi Gary
I opend outlook with the EMCSourceOne profile and am able to open any mailbox on the exchange 2010 server and even to cut past mails in and out.
the only difference i see when using the poweshell on the exchange is
on the emc service account the ntauthority has full acces with send as explicitly mentioned
the self account is the emcservice acount so normal it works
on the other mailboxes the emcservice account is listed with full acces not mentioning send as recieve as
hope its clear what i mean
thnx

What errors are you getting in the event log on the S1 Server?
Journaling is not a requirement

When running an activity towards a pilot group we get the error "Failed to logon to mailsource
for example the archiving activity
it fails with the typical error related to security settings
"Failed to log on to mailsource"

currently its running against a group of persons
bit it also fails running it against one of the persons by slecting him from the adresbook.
about the jouirnaling
they don't use journaling
(I'mnot so advanced on exchange as i am a domino consultant)
is journaling a requirement on 2010?
this would only resolve the archiving activity and what about shortcutting?

I have seen issues when selecting by server hierarchy in Exchange 2010. If you choose to run an archive activity against the journal mailbox, do the messages get archived? I experienced this with a customer recently that was running SourceOne 6.7 SP2.

Where did you install the outlook 2007 client? On the S1 server?
