SO 6.7 Outlook2010 support
Hi,
could you please clarify the SO 6.7 SP2 Outlook 2010 support? Reading the Products Compatibility Guide (300-008-041 A19) is a bit confusing. In the forum there are old discussions only.
Is Outlook 2010 a client program on the users desktop fully, natively supported for
- viewing shorcutted messages
- searching
- offline access (it seems it is supported Table 14. on page 48, in the mentioned guide)
Thank You!
Regards, Krisztian

Hi Krisztian,
In simple terms Outlook 2010 (32 and 64bit) is supported as a client on any client user machine. It is not currently supported on the SourceOne servers. The version supported on SourceOne servers is Outlook 2007.
There is no search client for Outlook in SourceOne as search is through SourceOne Web Search server(s).
I hope this clarifies the confusion.

Rajan

Yes you are right it is tricky, it is not clear from this Guide what is supported on client side. Now it is OK.
Thank You for your help.

Hello,
Please refer to ” Table 14- Offline Access 6.6.2 or 6.7 client compatibility” as that is the only client that is needed on the client side to support shortcuts. For Universal URL no need for special support as it is only URLs pointing to SourceOne servers.
Rest of the components where you see Outlook 2010 missing are referring to SourceOne Email Management (server side) and as I mentioned earlier Outlook 2010 is not currently supported on the server side.
It does get tricky for people at times as many expects something mentioned under “Remote Exchange mail clients supported by EMC SourceOne Email Management 6.6 to 6.7 SP2” section which is referring to server side.

Hi Rajan,
thank you for the info. One question come into my mind, why this information is not available in the Compatiblity Guide?
