Hi,

I work in Product Marketing for EMC.  I work with Lynn Post and we're responsible for the EMC SourceOne Compliance Archive, as well as the records management products, including Records Manager (RM), Retention Policy Services (RPS), Physical Records Services (PRS) and Federated Records Services (FRS).  I also help support Documentum Compliance Manager (DCM).

The best part of my current job is the breadth of scope.  I get to look not at one archiving product but at the total offering, what we're trying to achieve and why.  More specifically, RPS is the engine that allows us to do event-based retention which is important in a wide range of environments, which means I get to work with customers and partners in all kinds of business spaces.

Firefox, definitely.  No question.  Especially with NoScript and IE Tab installed!

Oh, this is tough, but I think I lean toward Mountains.

Greetings! My name is Matt Imel and I am the NAS and Archive Storage Architect at Eli Lilly and Company.  I live and work in Indianapolis, Indiana where the company is headquartered.  I have been in this role for almost 4 years, and with Lilly for 11.  Married 18 years, three kids (Paige 12, Mallory 10, Bennett 8) who love to swim, ride bikes, and play sports.

1) What is your role in relation to archiving, compliance or eDiscovery?

I am the architect of the present archive environment and business process for the company. Since 2005, I have supported our growing eDiscovery Project.  It is based on EmailXtender / DiskXtender and Centera.  Today it is comprised of 13 Windows servers pointing to a 56-node, 124TB replicated Centera cluster.  I also manage large project based archives for our research organization and the SAP environment.

2) Best part of your current job?

I get to work with state of the art technology and wonderfully talented people.

3) Firefox or Internet Explorer?

IE - Our corporate standard, what can you do?

4) The mountains or the beach?

I love both, but lately we've spent more time at our property in Daytona Beach.  Still, I like a cool sunrise with a view...maybe next vacation.

Hi everybody.

I'm Andrea Cassanello from Italy.

1. My company is a long term EMC partner with very high experience in EmailXtender/DiskXtender products since they belonged to OTG.

I've a good knowledge of EmailXtender myself and now also of SourceOne.

We’re investing many resources in SourceOne training, labs, presales activity and very soon we’re going to deploy ES1 for new customers.

I participated at SourceOne Bootcamp based in Cork last February and I attended the first EMEA official EMC SourceOne Email Management training program last March in Munich, Germany.

I’ve already booked E22-185 SourceOne Email Management Administration Exam on next July 9th..

Unfortunately the documentation couldn’t answer to all questions and there’s still not much experience and also Powerlink kb is till now empty.

I prepared myself installing several labs using vm machine using both ES1 version available RC and GA.

I also installed ES1 in my office mail infrastructure in production.

2. I can't decide which is the best part of my job. I play different roles in my company and I get in contact with many different customers around my country. I like to face new challanges, to cover many differents fields, to know new people and companies and to travel.

3. IE

4. Both of them . I like mountain both in winter and summer and I like also beach or better I like sea and I live by the sea.

I’m looking forward to share my experience with other technicians and to help each overs.

Thank you very much

Andrea

Hello all - my name is Jamie Orth and I am the Sr. Systems Engineer for the Publix Employees Federal Credit Union.  My current role is the design, install, and support for the company's archiving project.  We are a Centera / AppXtender / ES1 shop.

The best part about my current job is that for a smaller company we are rich in technology.  Being a financial institution we have to be!!

Browser?  I will have to side with Kevin and say Chrome.  At work IE7 is the only approved browser, although there are a few lucky ones like myself that do have Firefox to fall back on when IE (and our restricted security settings) doesn't allow something.

Mountains or the beach?  My family (wife and  3 kids) vote the beach - and living in Florida makes that an easy choice.

Jamie,

Welcome to the EMC SourceOne community and thanks for jumping in by posting about yourself as well as asking a couple of questions.  I've forwarded your questions to product management and you should be hearing back from them soon!

In the meantime, please feel free to contact us with any other questions you have.  We look forward to working with you.

I am an Engineering Manager for SourceOne Email Management and lead the team of Domino and Exchange experts.  My team is responsible for the archive, shortcut, delete and restore activities in SourceOne.  We also developed the User Directed Archiving capabilities as well as Offline Access for Outlook.

The best part of my job is working with the talented team of engineers on SourceOne who are passionate about creating a quality product.  Having been in the software development field for over 20 years, the caliber of knowledge, experience, and dedication of this team is by far the highest degree with which I have worked.

It's IE for me simply because I don't get out enough.  I've heard both good and bad with FF and haven't bothered to download it to see for myself.  I figure IE is the most widely supported browser, but IE 8 has me questioning that belief...

Definitely the mountains for me.  I enjoy hiking, skiing, zip-lines, alpine slides, water slides, mountain biking and most everything the mountains have to offer.  I burn too easily on the beach and tire too quickly of the sand getting everywhere!

1) What is your role in relation to archiving, compliance or eDiscovery?

Archiving to Documentum.

2) Best part of your current job?

One is never bored!

3) Firefox or Internet Explorer?

Mhhh, the answer to X vs. Y ist always a question: In which context?

In the context of a linux user: Firefox

In the context of using the right browser for EMC Documentum Webm from austria (europe), we got just a cuple of lakes, but great mountains!

Anything else you want to know ?

I work for a company called Aptronics in South Africa. I'm a Senior Technology Architect at Aptronics specialising in Microsoft VMware Citrix and now EMC Sourceone. We recently got involved with Sourceone and I wrote the E22-285 exam last year. I've done one SourceOne installation in South Africa so far and there is a lot of interested from customers so there will be lots to come.

Best part of my job is satisfying the customer's needs and helping them in the right direction.
