SupportAssist not listing all devices from OME inventory

Hello,

We have an OME 2.0.1 environment that we are connecting SupportAssist 2.0 to.  Things are mostly working fine, except that there are 12 Dell R720XD servers that are not showing up in SupportAssist.  Is there a way to manually sync up the devices in SupportAssist with the inventory from OME?

Thanks,

-Steve

Hi Steve,

There is an issue with SupportAssist v2.0, the description below describes the issue. There is a SupportAssist OME 2.0.1 slice release that is scheduled for to 2/10 that will fix this issue.

Issue Description:

“SupportAssist discovers R720XD or R730XD devices and shows in UI but after sometimes these devices are removed and are no longer visible in the UI. If you check the SupportAssist logs an entry saying “Devices filtered” will be seen.

This happens when the above mentioned devices are discovered using iDrac IP with WSMAN as the protocol in OME.”

If you cannot wait until the release next Tuesday (2/10) then the following is a workaround.

Workaround:

Until there is a resolution to this issue, suggested workaround (2 options):

1) The preferred solution is to utilize In-Band discovery using OS IP and have OMSA installed on the affected systems.  The discovery protocol will be OMSA/SNMP in OME.

2)  If the preference is to use Out-of-Band discovery using the iDrac IP, then SNMP is the only protocol that can be configured in OME.

NOTE:  If this option is chosen, then the automatic updates feature will not be available from OME.

I’ll post any updates here if the release date should be pushed back.

Thanks Joe!  We will plan to apply to fix when it is released.

The release has been moved back a week likely on 2/17

On the SupportAssist v2.0 for OME GUI there should be an update available icon in the upper right that will allow you to install the latest version which includes the patch.

C4r7m4n – not sure I understand your concern.

Launch SupportAssist icon from the Desktop and select Update Available on the SupportAssist GUI or use the following URL.
