Clarify - VSS Snapshot of a subdirectory Snaps the entire volume

I have some specs replicating subdirectories of a volume D:\Home; D:\PST; D:\Data etc
If I enable the VSS Snapshot, I get a snapshot of the WHOLE Volume D:\ for each spec

Is this the intended behavior?
Is there a way I can get a snapshot of only the subdirectory I am interested in?

TIA

Hi,

The snapshot can acquire only a volume unit.

This is specifications of VSS.

Therefore you get only a snapshot of D drive.

Yes, I remember seeing that before. The workaround I used then was to use saveset of volume and directive to skip everything that I do not wish to backup. I assume this is intended even I do not see why engineering could not figure out a way where they do volume snapshot and drop everything not listed on saveset list.

Silly me, I just realized this is RepliStor and not NetWorker forum...
