AutoStart Mirroring for Windows and VSS

Can AutoStart Mirroring for Windows works with VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) enabled on mirrored data source?

Yes, but you need to have Autostart 5.2 running with hotfix A_WIN_HF_5.2_57932.exe which makes it possible.

Sorry, but where I will find appropriate hotfix? Or it included to AutoStart 5.2 distribution? We downloaded AutoStart 5.2 in August.

You will find all the patches and hotfixes here:

Some of them are must-haves actually.

I just wanted to check...is it that mirroring does not work with VSS enabled machine using 5.1.2.

By experience and if I read correctly the readme file for the patch, Mirroring works on 5.1.2 on Windows 2003 with VSS as well. The problem is when you try backing up the mirrored disk using Windows native utility since VSS on mirroring does not allow backups.

Therefore, you either stop mirroring or use 5.2 with the patch if you want to use Windows native utility for backups.
