XtremIO + Recoverpoint Install Help

Hello,

I seem to be stuck in the RP installation and was hoping to get some clarification. The installation guides don’t mention that I have to do anything different for deploying RP with XIO and tell me to follow the VNX deployment process. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to get past the EMC Unishpere/Navisphere login credentials piece (Am I suppose to see this screen?). I put in the information for the XtremIO storage controllers but it always fails. Am I supposed to use the Recoverpoint installation option and not the Recoverpoint for VNX option? What am I missing?

Yes, you have probably ran the RP/SE installer for VNX. You would need to run the RecoverPoint installer - it won't ask for the XMS/SCs IPs.

Yes, use the RP Installer (not VNX).

Yes, use the latest DM version and the RP Installation option as opposed to RP/SE.

The cluster is now deployed, but I'm unable to register the vXMS with Recoverpoint using the rp_user. It errors out immediatly However, It works fine if I put in the XIO admin user. From what I have read, only the rp_user will have access to the snapshots that are created.

When I put admin user, works right away.

Did you setup a passwd for the rp_user?

Yeah, I got it working now. The documentation says I can change the password from the GUI, but i had to use the CLI. Thanks!

Correct. If you are logged in to the gui as tech user, then you can set the rp_user passwd.

Thanks
