what if the recoverypoint replication link is down
i have read some RecoveryPoint tech ppt. in the CRR solution, i find only in the remote side have a journal volume. so if the replication link is occasionally down for some period, where is the place for RPA to cache the write that not send to remote side? Does RPA has local storage or some place to cache the write?

In RP 3.0 and below and as you mention a WAN outtage occurs then the data is marked on the local RPA cache & repository volume. In RP 3.1, we mark the data on the local Journal as opposed to using the repository volume. When WAN recovers then the data is moved to target.

Hello,
Greeting for the day
When the remote site is available again, only the disk segments or blocks that were marked as having changed (dirty) are synchronized, and both transfer and replication are resumed.

Hello,
Greeting for the day.
When the link coming back to online, RPA will trigger the replication and there won't be any manual interaction required. For example, During peak hours, WAN link utilization will be increased and if you had less bandwidth, it might lead the Consistency group to "Paused" state and later on it will come back to online when the link coming back to normal.
Let me know in case of any queries. thank you.

Aran,
This is not true. If the wan link is down in a CRR environment, we go into marking mode. In marking mode we use a small bit map file which allows indefinite tracking and will not fill up. Since the wan link is down and we are not replicating to the target site, the target journal will not fill up either.
Just wanted to clarify this for future community participants.
