RP/CE Re-installation

Hello Everyone,

I have a question on RecoverPoint/CE.

I have started a job where the previous storage admin has configured a MSCS using RP/CE (Server 2008R2). This has been configured few months back and I was told many times that the Microsoft Cluster with a Node and File Share Majority is ready. I checked and ran the Cluster Validation tool it failed on the Storage. There are five LUNs presented to the cluster, Windows sees all the shared volumes but ClusterEnabler does not.

There is not a line of documentation and I have suggested to begin from scratch, i.e. reinstall Windows OS, install EMC PowerPath, then MSCS feature, and last RecoverPoint/CE plugin. I have all the RP required infrastructure in place.

My question is the order of installation. Is it:

- PowerPath

- MSCS

- RecoverPoint/CE

Thank you very much.

Hi Arthur,

Yes, this is the correct order.

Hi Rich,

Sorry for the late reply.

Is there anything special I need to know while installing RP/CE? I have configured MSCS, and EMC PowerPath before.

Kind Regards,

Check out the latest 4.1.4 version of the RP/CE Plugin Release Notes and Product Guide plus the RP/CE Base Component Release Notes.

The main point of note is that RP/CE is not supported after RP version 4.0. So it's not supported with version 4.1 and later.
