Recoverpoint UI won't update LUN info

We are running RP (EX) 4.0.2, connected to a VNX 7600 running the .038 code.  Using IE 9.0

I've seen this many times in the past where if I make a change to the LUN (like resizing it) the Recoverpoint UI will not reflect the change.

For example, I just resized a test journal LUN from 5GB to 10GB and even after 15 mintues and closing my browser the RP UI refuses to update the information, still shows 5GB.

This is very frustrating, is this normal?

Thanks Brett@S.  I also opened a SR at the same time and got a speedy call back.  He had me run a rescan_san from ssh (admin login) and that updated the GUI.  We also rebooted the node that was supporting the UI at the same time, not sure which effort actually fixed the problem.

How this User Interface bullsh*t gets out the door @ EMC is beyond me.

I'm not running that version so can't confirm if it's normal, but it doesn't sound so

I've seen Java do weird things like that so have you tried from multiple hosts etc ?

Also if you login over ssh as admin and run get_san_volumes, get_volume_info etc are the sizes correctly reported ?

Similarly you could login as boxmgmt and run some of the diagnostics to check.

That sounds good, i'm glad the refresh button actually does something in 4.1.

EMC has twice told customers in the Recoverpoint 4.1 release notes not to update to 4.1, but I'm interested in getting to that version when it's stable.

Hi Ben,

I appreciate your perspective and although the CLI rescan_san resolves the issue the refresh button in 4.1 does perform a rescan and resolves the issue, whereas in 4.0.x it has no effect.

I will ensure that this is escalated and resolved.

Glad you got it sorted Ben.

I'd love to know when we might be able to upgrade to 4.1, been waiting a while now.

Rich, are you able to advise of  a timeframe when it will be ready for 4.x customers?

RP 4.1 SP1 is due for release around mid December with the intention of allowing customer installable or upgradeable capability.

Rich
