Can you expand the journal pool while replicating?
Hello,
I added an enclosure and drives to two VNXs for the Recover Point Journal pool. This is the first time since the installation that I am doing this and so I just wanted to ask this basic question. Can I expand the pool while replication is occurring or do I need to pause replication while expanding the pool?
Many thanks in advance!

You can expand the pool without pausing replication. It looks like you are only using 500GB out of 1,600GB so might not want to expand it just yet, wait until you get to 80-85% full. Keep in mind that it is very easy to expand a pool but you can't shrink it.

There is no journal "pool" unless we have our terms messed up. Each consistency group has one more luns as part of its journal "pool", to add space to that you would need to add another lun to it. While this may be automated depending on the version you are using in the background there is a new lun created on the VNX. If attached a screenshot, one clicks on "Edit Journal Volumes" below
If you question is can you expand a lun that is part of a journal pool the answer is not without disrupting replication

Thank you Ankur! My mistake. I meant to ask if I can add drives to the actual pool itself. Not a lun.

Thank you Ankur, I am probably not explaining myself properly as I am a Recover Point newbie. Thank you for your patience. I want to expand the pool where I define the journal luns. Please see attached picture.

Ah ok now its clear, you want to expand the VNX pool where the journals exist. As Ernes states yes you can without disruption.
