SMTP problem EMC ME4024
I've got a problem with setuping and SMTP notifications.
I fill it up as manual said. Filling up server, domain, sender name, Security TLS with port 587.
I catched packets and it said "TCP ACKed unseen segment" and "TCP Previous segment not captured".
Could someone help me setup this feature?

Bohuslavmracek,
What you're asking is difficult to answer without knowing about the environment, as it sounds like an issue between the ME and the host, not necessarily the ME itself.
To start lets address the simple stuff, firewall ports & address are the first things to look at. In most cases it is a something simple. After that we would need to dig into the configuration of how the ME is attached to the host, network devices between, the software you're using to catch the packets, etc.
So let me know what you see.

Hello,
We are using an office365 as mail server.
The firewall ports that i am allowing are 25,465,587 that can go to the mail server from the emc.
I can see that the session for the email is opened on the firewall. So the rule i made for it works.
Current settings:
SMTP server: our office365 mail server
Sender domain: domain.com
Sender name: loginname
Security protocol: TLS
Sender Password: password for the sender name
The emc says that i have improper config so maybe im stuck at that.
Let me know what more information do you need. Thanks for your reply.

Hello Bohuslavmracek,
I am sorry you faced with this issue.
I would like to recommend you to check this article from Microsoft:
How to set up a multifunction device or application to send email using Microsoft 365 or Office 365
https://dell.to/3v1aK7C
TLS and other encryption options:
Determine what version of TLS your device supports by checking the device guide or with the vendor. If your device or application doesn't support TLS 1.2
ME4 array's till CFW GT280R009-02 uses TLS 1.0 for sending emails, I suppose that could be a reason of issue.
Alternatives:
-Depending on your requirements, use direct send (Option 2) or Microsoft 365 or Office 365 SMTP relay (Option 3) instead.
-Use an on-premises email server (Exchange Server or any other SMTP server) to relay mail if your device is unable to meet the previous requirements for connecting to Microsoft 365 or Office 365. In fact, you might find it easier to configure and manage an on-premises SMTP server to relay messages from your devices and applications, especially if you have many devices and applications that send email.
-To find out more about configuring your own email server to send mail to Microsoft 365 or Office 365, see Set up connectors to route mail between Microsoft 365 or Office 365 and your own email servers.
Please let me know if you have any questions,

Bohuslavmracek,
Unfortunately there is not an update currently, but it looks to be in the new update for ME4. We are not sure on the timeframe of the release though.
Hope this helps.

Hello, if it really uses TLS 1.0 i think we have got a winner...
Will there be any update for TLS 1.2?
With my colleague we have got an alternative that the emc send trap and our prtg system send us an email that trap was received...
Thanks for your reply.

Hi,
Same issue here, so this is quite awaited enhancement as gmail will finish soon with 3rd party app email sending possibility and only solution is TLS 1.2 with smtp.office365.com.
Please let us know if new firmware is available to solve TLS 1.2.
Prior thanks in advance.

Hello Chris,
Thank you.
Please highlight to the dev team, that after gmail's free solution there will be the O365 (M365) is one of the main solution (of course some other mail servers can be used) in the wide-cloud era.
As far as I see Microsoft responses to security issues they closed SMB 1.0, finoshing TLS 1.0; so security will be first prio. Of course legacy (vulnerable) solutions will be obsolete one by one.
So I hope that they will re-think the feasiblity.
Prior thanks

APali,
From what I am seeing there doesn't appear to be, but let me do some research to confirm that.

There is a new firmware bundle released today, 7-18-2022, called GT280R010-01. I installed it and the ME4 is again able to send email using Office 365. It was funny. the update was halfway through installing and then a flood of emails starting coming through. Very happy this is resolved!

Hi, I can confirm: new firmware contains (among many others as well) this feature improvement > TLS v1.2.
Now emails arrived correctly via M365 SMTP.
Thank you for the development team !

We are actually using smtp.gmail.com for smtp. it was working till last week.
we are not sure what happened in between. snmp alerts stopped working.
We contacted dell support team, they suggested to update storage with latest firmware
Firmware also updated. even though issue is not resolved. port used is 587
Error message: event 611 email misconiguration
