Dell Server R7615 and the new RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell Server Edition 300W

Hello Dell Engineering Team and Community,
I’m currently assessing the feasibility of deploying the NVIDIA RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell Server Edition (300W TDP) in a Dell PowerEdge R7615 chassis.
While this GPU does not yet appear in the official Dell configurator for the R7615, I’ve reviewed the hardware specifications and found that the server supports:
•  FHFL dual-slot PCIe Gen5 x16 GPUs
•  Up to 350W TDP per slot
•  2400W PSU options
•  Adequate airflow and riser configurations for passive-cooled GPUs
Given that the RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell Server Edition matches these parameters—form factor, power draw, PCIe lane width, and cooling profile—can you confirm whether this GPU is technically compatible with the R7615?
Is it possible that the configurator has not yet been updated to reflect support for this newly released SKU? Or is there a BIOS-level whitelist policy or segmentation strategy that would prevent this GPU from being recognized or utilized in the R7615 platform?
Any insights from Dell engineers or others who have explored this deployment path would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Firman

Thanks for checking in on my curiosity!
I really appreciate it. As much as I’d love to experiment, I’ll be going with a validated system the R7725 for now (450W TDP). I just don’t have the courage to risk it on the R7615 until I’m absolutely sure it can run the Pro 6000 Blackwell GPU reliably, even if the TDP isn’t fully optimized.
I’m planning to make the purchase in the next few days, and I’m still hoping someone out there has real-world data showing the R7615 can handle it stably. That would be a game-changer.

Hello,

Since Dell has not Validated it for the R7615 I cannot confirm it will work. It may work if you want to try it. The specs seem ok. Follow the GPU specifications. You may need other components that would be in a GPU kit if it were a validated GPU. It would have components like: shroud, fans, heat sink…

GPU specifications Page 36

The PowerEdge R7615 system supports up to three 300 W double-width GPUs or six 75 W single-width GPUs.

Make sure system firmware is up to date, BIOS and iDRAC

@DELL-Charles R is there anytime timeline on when it might get Validated (if at all). I'm in the same boat with a R7615 and questioning if I can put in a Blackwell GPU or not.

Hello,

I'm sorry I don't have any visibility on which GPUs may be up for consideration as supported in the R7615.

I would only know that if it becomes available in the part data base for the R7615.

I did just check the parts database and I do not see it listed at this time.

Thank you, what is the best way to stay up-to-date to know when something changes?

Best I could say is you may contact back in periodically, and we can check.

I don't want to say never, but I don't recall Dell going back a generation and adding parts to the validated parts list.

They may have, but I'm not aware of it.

I checked the 17th gen R7715 and I don't see it for that generation. The R7615 is a 16gen, so I'm not certain they will retro validated it.
