Dell PowerEdge 1650 IDRAC? setup
Hi! First post here. I have one of these servers for a home lab and was wondering if the IDRAC or what ever it is, has ever been licensed. I have 2 - R720's that are licensed and are working great. I would like this one to work the way the R720's do. My <Private data removed from public view. DELL-Admin> and does not show up on your site when trying to check for updates and history. Can someone from Dell verify the status of this or help me to get it enabled?

@DELL-Young E That is the tag that shows up in the BIOS and the Dell Installation CD for the operating systems. I will send a pic as soon as I can.

I can send you a Private Message you can reply to, but I don't think you will need to. I was able to pull up that service tag for the 1650, and am not seeing any mention of a Drac being installed, but due to its age our details are limited. On a side note you are trying to use a 23 year old server like two 10 year old servers, so there will be significant differences in function and performance.

@DELL-Chris H I understand. I like the "old" gear since I was "raised" on it. Is there any way to make it work, purchasing a license or through the "right" software? Also, do you have a manual for this server?

@DELL-Chris H The DRAC hardware is in there and it is hooked up, but no connection light on it. Not sure if its not good or not enabled.

Thank you. What you will likely need to do is submit a change of ownership for here, unless you are currently able to state the company name the server is registered under. If you can then I would suggest reaching out to Dell Customer Care, as they may have additional abilities to possibly resend the idrac license, which we aren't seeing.
If you don't know the company name then submit the change of ownership and once completed then reach out to Customer Care.
