Cannot see the second Raid 5 arrays on ESXI 7.0.3
Hello,
I have 2 Raid 5 on my power edge R730,
the first Raid 5 is 3 SSD 400G each for Operation system,
the second Raid 5 is 5 SASS 1.2T each to act as DataStore.
i already installed Esxi 7.0.3 on the fist Raid But i do not see the second Raid 5 array.
#Note: Bios version is 2.17
Do i miss any configuration in the Bios or ESXI?
Thank you

Hello, you can’t see from the get-go or is this happening all of a sudden?
‘But i do not see the second Raid 5 array. “
->Can you check the VD status for this?

Hello,
If this Datatore was presented earlier and you change something on your config than run "esxcfg-volume -l" and show us the output.

@DELL-Young E I could see the two raid groups on the bios, but did not see them on ESXI. I recreated the raid again and installed windows to format the harddisks. Then reinstalled esxi and everything is ok now. Thank you

@mancoeg
SOMETIMES i forget to select "Quick Initialising" of the VD which means you have to wait for a long time creating a RAID5/6. If you boot into your OS after settings up the VD the OS cant see the LUN(VD) because the VD isnt ready.
If you select "Quick Initialising" the OS will see the VD and can use it. The RAID will be created in the background.
