E20-329 Query
Hi,
I am taking the E20-329 exam shortly and need to clear one confusion. The course outline that came with my VILT says that EDL is part of the course. I know that the course is changing on the 2nd of March 2012 so I'm going to sit the exam with the current course. Now, if you see the current and future course outline available on the 329 page on education.emc.com, the current version does not include EDL.
Can someone confirm which version to go with? Is EDL still part of the course, atleast till 1st March?

Thank your for your question.
The course that supports the 329 exam, Backup Recovery Solutions Design was recently updated and the updated video ILT vesion was released on 2/17/2012. If you placed an order and received the video ILT before that date, you would have received the prior version of the course that still contained EDL content. The 329 exam was updated recently to remove all EDL questions. So the old video ILT has the EDL content, but there are no related EDL question on the current exam.
For the new video ILT, available after 2/17 and the new exam, releasing 3/2, both contain no references to EDL in either the content or exam questions.
I hope this helps lessen any confusion. Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thanks for the response Ed.
It certainly clears a lot of confusion. I got my VILT back in Aug 2011 and the practice exam link on it still has a lot of EDL questions. Hence the confusion.

Cleared the exam today and have now completed all BRS TA requirements! Just in time before the course changes. One question; how long are these certifications valid for?

Congratulations on clearing the E20-329 and achieving TA, Backup and Recovery Solutions Specialist certification!
Your certification does not expire. However, we do encourage you to stay current on the products you work with and recommend updating your knowledge and certification at least every 36 months. Have you checked out the details of our Knowledge Maintenance program?
