Re-install of Microsoft Office 2010 unsuccessful

Dell Inspiron N7110,  Microsoft Windows 7 version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 build 7601,  recently downloaded from Digital River and activated.  Downloaded Microsoft Office Home & Student 2010 which came preloaded on the computer.  This was a direct download through HeliDoc.net.  I have the product code from the original purchase. I downloaded and attempted to install the executable files both "Old" and "New SP1"

I received the following message after the files were extracted.  "Setup is unable to proceed due to the following errors::  To install and use this product you must be running one of the following operating systerms.........X86 (or) X64 platform:  Windows 7 (and others).

The information program shows the following:  System Directory\windows\system32  ??  Should this be?  The computer is X64 and I believe the operating system is X64.

Again, any advice or direction would be appreciated.

Resolved:   Downloaded and installed Windows 7 again.  Microsoft Office then installed with no issues.  Thanks for the help along the way.
