My aulauncher.exe file won't connect. Says "internet connection required. Check your connection and try again."
I have tried to get dell support center back for several days now and it's getting a bit old. I deleted my previous connection because of a previous internet connection problem.
My computer is the Inspiron 14r, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Right now, I see PcDr but only the logs. One of the logs for the aulauncher says:

Can anyone make sense of this. I checked my firewall, proxies, etc. and this keeps happening. I would like to know I can get y Del Support Center (aka My Dell) on my computer ad working.
Oh, by the way, I completely deleted any stray traces both in the program files and my registry of any old My Dell's on my computer, There is however appupdater in my startup which probably came with I tried to install with aulauncher--but that doesn't do anything (because it doesn't recognize my internet connection which I have).
Has anyone been able to solve this problem or can they without reinstalling the entire computer system which is unnecessary, one would think.

THIS SOLVED MY PROBLEM:
I had the same problem on my Dell Inspiron 1526-Win Vista(32 bit). Aulauncher was not recognizing my already running internet connection. It got solved as under on 15-JUNE-2014:
1)Downloaded & saved latest "aulauncher.exe". Ran it & got "Internet connectione required.." message.
2)Went to Dell support & clicked on "Detect my service tag" . The programme downloaded and ran and seemed to do nothing.
3) Now I ran "aulauncher.exe" and it worked fine. After downloading it ran the file and installed the software.
I have just started "My Dell" and it is checking my computer.
[In fact it started downloading a "dsc.......exe" file (49-50 MB). I 3G connection was painfully slow & I got several connection error messages. I gave "Retry" and the Dell Installer picked up the download right from where it had been inturrupted. So thanks to Dell installer, I had not to download the whole file everytime.]

Ensure that Microsoft .net Framework 4.0 is installed:

Also ensure that you are running Internet Explorer 10

I already have NET 4 and I now have IE 11. I don't see how having a different browser would make the connection not be recognized. I had the support center in before before it stopped recognizing the internet connection.
I know I am not the only person who has had this problem installing Dell's Support Center. Did copies of the og help or not. Let me know.

One, I do not have AVG and two, I don't have any Conduit spyware. My security settings are medium and I don't use Java because I don't use IE as a rule. I use other alternatives.
This is most frustrating. Should I even bother--or just chuck it. Too bad--dsc worked fine before.

The AVG program and or Conduit Search Malware or Java Disabled or security settings may all have something to do with it not working.
:emotion-3:
Conduit is not safe for reasons concerning cyber crime, the invasion of privacy,
entrapment, unethical marketing practices, and their “dark” past associated with malware, etc.
Furthermore, anyone can make a Conduit Community toolbar to generate money,
but Conduit Community Toolbar is often used by unethical third-parties.

Hello,
I passed the information posted to one of our engineers and he had a couple of comments/questions for you:
Do you have any other .net applications installed on the system that access the network? Are they displaying the same issue?
Have you tried to move the downloaded aulauncher.exe file to a different directory and tried to update?
What connection were you referring to you said " I deleted my previous connection because of a previous internet connection problem?"
There are settings files that, if modified, can cause problems like reported in his logs.
The logs for appupdater say "Download exception thrown: Error creating the Web Proxy specified in the 'system.net/defaultProxy' configuration section."
The system.net/defaultProxy settings can be found in the machine.config file and the web.config file in the Config directory of the Framework64.
A small change in a configuration file for .NET will cause the download to fail in the same place for a different reason. This means this could be a configuration problem.

Thanks,
Notice in his wording he says "...I deleted my previous connection because of a previous internet connection problem."
I wonder what connection he is refering to. It turns out that there are settings files that, if modified, can cause problems like reported in his logs.
The logs for appupdater say "Download exception thrown: Error creating the Web Proxy specified in the 'system.net/defaultProxy' configuration section."
The system.net/defaultProxy settings can be found in the machine.config file and the web.config file in the Config directory of the Framework64.

Running XP Professional - fresh install - updates - SP3 - dot Net Framework 4.0 and updates OK - IE8 - XP doesn't support IE10 - When I attempt install of My Dell I I get a certificate error on install but can manually install the certificates - next attempt after installing the certificates and re-boot - new set of certificates that have an install error. steve

After six hours of trying all the internet-ideas, I accidentally found the solution for me:
1) Download the "SupportAssist Agent" and the "SupportAssist". Create a folder for each and save the files under "programs (x86)". That means, you have to save the files not under "programs for 64bit", but save under the 32bit-file!! That's important!
2) Also download the MIcrosoft KnowledgeBase KB2756872!
3) First install the KB2756872 and Restart.
4) Install the SupportAssistAgent then. Restart.
5) Install the SupportAssist.
Now it should work.
Good luck!
