printer not connected

My HP laptop updated to Windows 8.1.  Now my Dell V305 Printer will not work, either via USB or wireless.  Is it possible to fix, or do I need a new printer??  :{

Hello DSULLIV,

It sounds like the update may have caused a hiccup with driver/software. Please try re-installing the drivers, after removing the old software.

I was able to connect  the printer via USB (not wirelessly).  At least the printer works, and I don't need a new one!  I'm grateful for your help.
