Printer driver error message
when i start my Vostro 1520 a message window pops up saying it is searching for pre-configured driver folders for office jet pro printer. after a few seconds another message appears saying the driver software was not successfully installed. i tried loading the drivers onto the PC from the CD that came with the HP printer but no luck. the printer seems to be working OK with my Vostro but i keep getting this install error message. what am i doing wrong?

dave trader,
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue.
Make sure the printer is not usb cable conected to the computer.
Start, control panel, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
Install the drivers using the manufacturers instructions. Once the drivers are installed, you should get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on)
Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.

Hi dave trader,
Since the printer is working fine even though there is an application error which comes up in the startup. The best option is to disable this process in startup, please follow the steps below.
Start >run > msconfig > this will open a windows which has five tabs ‘General, Boot, services, startup and tools’ > select startup > there may be multiple entries related to the printer software please uncheck them all > click on apply and click on ok. Restart the computer so that the startup error message will be disabled.
In case you need the printer application in the startup then you need to uninstall the printer software from the system and then re-install the printer software from the HP website.

So I don't turn on the printer until I'm done reinstalling the drivers?
